American lawmakers from each parties are accusing one another as numerous of workers are on unpaid leave and the shutdown continues with no resolution in prospect.

Democrats have resisted to back the GOP spending plan unless ending medical assistance which they claim many employed households count on are renewed.

The Republican Party want Democrats to enact a temporary legislation beforehand and then they can discuss the support payments.

This California citizen is concerned about the widespread effect of the shutdown on regular people.

The Republicans have 53 yeas, they require sixty to approve the measure. Could it be that hard to find common ground over a handful of yeas so that US citizens avoid harm?

If this drags on for another week or two, the truth is the public are being harmed, American citizens are being touched by this and somebody must do something to be the adult in the group.

I believe sometimes politicians are so far away from us, the common folk living their lives, so they overlook what the challenge is like and I think they need to take that into consideration, especially if it's three-quarters of a million workers that are unpaid.

That's a large group of citizens not getting paid, that's a lot of citizens unable to inject their money toward the economy. The public are just being harmed.

I'm concerned because there is no positive result with the federal government being closed.

I'm extremely concerned about what's going to happen to low-income families, learners who depend on government grants and federal employees.

But this is a important struggle for the Democratic Party to wage. Certainly employment are going to be eliminated, initiatives are going to go without funding, which is so unfortunate but I do not believe that is blood that the Democrats would have on their record.

I believe it's worth it to hold out, this is delivering a strong message to their supporters.

I am unsure if the top Democrat has a roadmap for an exit strategy to discussions or how to lead the faction beyond this.

I don't know if the Democrats have a clear communication to the citizens on what they're pursuing.

In terms of social media messaging, the Republicans definitely have the edge. The communication is not effective on what the left are aiming for.

I'm currently at a point where I'm kind of anxious because government shutdowns hurt everyone.

I'm going to be okay, but for the rest who relies on the government, who hopes to explore a National Park or gallery, they're going to be impacted, if not immediately, then in the coming days.

And that is unacceptable.

This is typical political maneuvering. It is a continuing resolution they are attempting to pass, that the opposition reject.

I fail to observe that this is going to conclude.

The Democratic plan is a tough one, but unfortunately it is a required one.

The political figure is a intimidator and if you yield to a bully he's going to expect further compromises, that's how aggressive people behave. So you have to stand up to a bully to make him understand you're not going to surrender for without resistance.

The point when it becomes too much is when the Democrats start losing the PR battle, if the story changes to blaming the left then it might be necessary to call it quits.
